Gamaliel of Metro Chicago Scholarship is available (Download)

Gamaliel of Metro Chicago (GMC)’s mission is to develop new community leaders through the building of networks of “core teams” and alliances with other community groups to build an organization capable of responding to Chicago Metropolitan issues of education, economic development, older adult, civil rights of immigrants and workforce development.
The University Round Table (URT) is comprised of representatives of institutions of post-secondary education and college-access advocates. located in the Chicago metropolitan area and in Illinois. Its mission is to provide necessary resources for underrepresented students with a focus on successful recruitment, college access and affordability, retention, and college completion.


  • Have plans to enroll in an accredited college or university in an undergraduate, degree or certificate pro- gram for minimal of 6 semester or 8 quarter hours
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or on a 4 point scale or its equivalence
  • Be a volunteer in a Gamaliel of Metro Chicago committee



On April 16, 2012 pastors and community leaders from the South Suburban Action Conference and Gamaliel of Metro Chicago came together for a “Blessing and Groundbreaking”  at the site of the proposed South Suburban Airports to show the need for construction which will create jobs and positively impact economic development for the South Suburban region.
The event was attended by pastors throughout Illinois and Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. to support the airport’s construction.  There was a press conference held at 4700 W. Court St, Monee, IL 60449 beforehand at New Hope Christian Community Church.
Following the press conference hundreds caravaned for the  “Blessing of the Land,” (2 miles away, see map) to S. Will Center Rd., and W. Offner Rd., Monee, IL 60449.
