Create the change you want to see!

Change is made when pressure is put on decision makers to hear the voices of the underserved. School teachers, preachers, janitors, students, farm workers, church members. Historically, these are the people who have shaped our country to be more inclusive, compassionate and equal. Among them, Martin Luther King, Jr, Rosa Parks, Cesar Chavez, Rudolfo Corky Gonzales, Reies Lopez Tijeriana fought to reshape the framework of our cities and states. Chicago has a long history of racism, disparity, corruption, and inequality. But it is also full of people who are ready to change this landscape! DON’T ACCEPT WHAT IS AUTOMATICALLY OFFERED. FIGHT FOR WHAT IS DESERVED.

WHAT WE DO

The mission of all Gamaliel networks is to empower ordinary people to effectively participate
in the political, environmental, social and economic decisions affecting their lives. Here’s how we do just that.

TRAINING

GMC offers multiple leadership development events throughout the year to provide everyday people with the skills, tools, and attitudes necessary to create the change they seek.

IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM / TAKE ACTION:

Working with our trained leaders, GMC helps identify the source of the ISSUES and the plan for ACTION to hold elected officials accountable.

BUILDING A POWER STRUCTURE

We know that our leaders deserve a seat a the table – and one large enough to impart change. This is only possible when a collective power base is created. Unions, congregations, and other community-based organizations across the Chicagoland area, are partners with GMC and together we fight for the change our leaders seek.

FUNDRAISING:

To organize power, you must organize money. We train people to organize significant amounts of money so our organizations are sustainable with staff, training, transportation and public events.

GAMALIEL METRO CHICAGO

Committed to organizing power to affect change in the Chicagoland area. Power is derived from organizing people and organizing money. We train to develop deep public relationships, to come together in a strong organization, and to move into direct action in the public arena to confront those in power.
